DCR-TRV 250 video camera and Firewire...

This one is a little off topic, but it does have to do with video!
The other day, I had hooked up my video camera through its firewire connection to my computer. The system recognised it without a problem and I transfered some footage to my hard drive.
Today, I hooked up everything as usual, but the computer doesn't "see" the camera now, and the camera's screen keeps flashing "DV IN".
I've tried the usual, short of replacing the firewire cable (its new by about three days) and taking the camera in for service.
Anybody have any suggestions???
