VHS -) DVD-R, which connectors matter?

Hi everyone,

I am back again with yet another question, but this time we're talkin' Video.

anyhow, I have recently bought an Adaptec videoh! unit for my computer. It allows me to capture the audio/video from RCA jacks, as well as take the video from s-video or even grab the A/V via the antenna.

So, before I begin converting all my tapes, I want to invest in a nice, used VCR deck (likely from ebay).

I was just wondering If I am wasting my time trying to acquire a deck with s-video out (that was I can record via L & R audio rca's and my s-video input). The obvious reason I want a deck w/ s-video out is because the colors are more accurate w/ s-video.

...so I am left wondering, is the ant video signal exactly the same quality of that of s-video?

Thanks for your help / suggestions.
