I'm looking for an inexpensive basic DVD recorder that will allow me to take the iLink (IEEE 1394) output from my Canon mini DV camcorder and transfer the video digitally to be recorded onto DVD. The DVD will need to play in most home DVD players. What are my options? I don't need built-in hard disk or fancy time-shift recording capabilty.... just want a basic (cheap) way to transfer mini DV tape to DVD - NOT using a PC - but a dedicated consumer electronics DVD recorder 'appliance'. Thanks!
