5 segment, 2 x colour wheels

66.81.18.138

Interested to here from those in the know about these 5 segment, 2 times colour wheels that are appearing, in particular on new units , the NECs HT410 and HT510 + the new Benq cheapie, the PE5120.

Benq use 4 segment, 3 times on their data projectors 6100 and 6200.
Now with the new PE5120 they are going 5 segment, throwing in a yellow segment but keeping the speed down at 2 times.

The obvious question is how does the combination of 5 and 2 go with the dreaded "rainbow effect". My understanding is that increasing the speed to 3 x reduces the effect just that little bit more, to the point that for most people it reduces all rainbow problems.

Why then on specific Home Theatre designed projectors of which these three are touted, are we slipping back to 2x speeds ?

I have read the other threads on this subject including the Benq PDF
brochure, but it still doesn't answer all of my queries
