Wall mounting rear-ported speakers and other issues...

24.75.37.21

It's been a long time since I've posted at AA. I've finally collected all of the components to have a 5.1/6.1 HT. My main problem is speaker placement. I am putting the HT in the living room where the 2-channel system is and will remain separate. I already have my 2-channel bookshelf speakers on stands and do not want to add another pair of stands for the HT speakers. I decided to mount all of the HT speakers on the wall. The equipment I am using is as follows:

Speakers: 6 Aura Sound LSB-527M (rear-ported 2-way speaker with 5.25" mid-woofer)
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V1500 7.1 channel receiver
Source: Toshiba SD-1600 DVD

Now, am I going to have a problem wall mounting rear-ported speakers? I don't have the mounts yet, but I imagine the space between the speaker and the wall will be about 3-4". I will be using Omnimount speaker brackets. This HT will not have a dedicated center channel, but I've read that this is not a negative. My wife is not all that thrilled about mounting these speakers half-way up the walls, but I've told her this is really our only option. Any advice and tips from others who have wall-mounted speakers in the HT system would be great. Thanks.
