D.V.D. sound problem query

I was watching a concert d.v.d. last night, and I was annoyed with sudden drops in volume. Often two or three times during a song, and on most songs. I have one other concert d.v.d. which does the same thing. But I have many concert and film discs in which this does not occur, and have never rented a disc in which this has occurred. I looked on the two discs for information that may be similar, but there does not appear to be anything in common.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a problem with the disc itself? Are all the same discs likewise affected? Please let me know your thoughts.
