Hi I have a Minato 28" widescreen tv, Minato Dvd player and just recently got a DigiTheatre kit(DD 5.1 decoder + speakers + amp - got last 1 in dixons for £105(!))
Anyway i set it up downstairs in my house as there was more room just to test it so it was all attached but to a different tv (21" Philips) Tested it sounder great. Dragged stuff upstairs to connect to the 28" tv in my room and setup. Got it all setup tested it sounded fine... until i turned on my tv then i got an annoying hum from all the speakers, checked all connections all fine. Turn off tv, it goes away.If i have the tv on and unattach the scart lead from the dvd player it goes away. I wondered if it was anything to do with the earth in my room so use a supple from downstairs, no different. I bring the tv from downstairs and attach instead of widescreen one - no hum. Tried another TV still no hum.
I am guessing that the tv seems to be sending along the scart lead(or composite lead - i tried that as well same hum) some kind of static interference or something(?) to the dvd player which in turn is sending it along to the amp.
Any ideas anyone - reasons for this or solutions? Thanks,
Mike S
