sony dvpnc650v dvd

I am looking to buy my first dvd and thought the sony dvpnc650v would be a good choice since it also plays multi-channel SACD. Has anyone had any experience with this player? Also, can I play 2 channel SACD through my audio pre-amp and amp? Are there any other dvd's in the same approximate price range ($400 - $500) that I should be looking at.
