Ah, San Francisco's Mt. Davidson Cross. 35 years ago, we would visit, and wish that it would morph into Black Sabbath's Headless Cross. Alas, this was where we discussed a new-to us glam rock band, Extreme.
It was "Kid Ego," which brought the band to our attention. Because the plurality of my friends consisted of nerd girls, this song helped to keep their egos from getting out of hand. "Kid Ego" only hinted at guitarist Nuno Bettencourt's talent. But who would known in 1989, that Extreme's biggest hit would be the ballad, "More Than Words?"
