30 years ago, some of my friends were at junior colleges. So while they missed out on 4-year universities' underclassmen culture, the JC's were kind of like an extension of high school. My friends got to take fun, 1- or 2-unit classes, in music and arts. And that's how they came across Zhane, who were associated with Queen Latifah. Zhane's "Groove Thang" thus is kind of a snapshot, of that era and culture.
