I watched this one last night -- I had it from Netflix.

It really is impossible to know conclusively from the film as they only show you want they want to. Even the Ocean DVD could have been edited before release.

I think the little girl had help -- significant help -- from the father. I'm not an expert on abstract art, but the quality of the pieces on the gallery walls vs the stuff the girl was doing in the video clips were not from the same hand.

Marla really had little brush control in the videos and the colors she was mixing were forming muddy grey tones. To keep the level of color purity displayed in many of the finished pieces would have been a big departure from what we saw her doing.
