The Heiress

Posted by Brian A on September 8, 2011 at 13:45:30:

Just bought and saw "The Heiress." Fantastic movie. Olivia de Havilland won the best actress Academy Award for this gem. Other than costume and set design, there were no special effects, no explosions or gunfire, no aliens or motherships, but I was riveted to my seat several times. I could feel the anguish of the father as he had to stomp the life out of her heart. I could feel her heart soar to great heights, then plummet to the rocks below without a bounce. The subtle test at the end. And the bittersweet end. What will happen to her now?

A few notes on the money. She already had the equivalent of 333K a year inheritance with the prospect of another cool 667K a year to come. That's a million a year in today's numbers.

Drop what you are doing and watch this.
