essence of how he was portrayed by Clancy in the novels. Having said that I've got no problem with Ford's portrayal, IMHO, he was sabotaged by the direction. Patriot Games, tho flawed, was his best effort. The silly boat chase across Chesapeake Bay and his character's forced heroics flawed an otherwise solid flick. He was OK in Clear and Present Danger.

Don't get me started on the silly Sum of All Fears and Affleck and the changing of the antagonists to White Supremacists/Neo Nazis. Yawn.....

I'm still waiting for Red Storm Rising to be made into a movie or Cardinal of the Kremlin but unfortunately the windows for those two have closed.
