Judging from the previews and assorted comments, I was thinking it would fall short.

Come to think of it -- and I can't -- when did Depp last do anything that was great and memorable? I keep conjuring him up with a crow on his head and sounding drunk. OK, that punches the memorable ticket.

Donnie Brasco and Gilbert Grape were great movie roles for him, but those were way back there.
