HT Question for the Assylum....

Posted by Gersonic on July 23, 2007 at 10:11:34:

Need a couple of ideas from the Inmates….

Back-story…

Currently remodeling the house and after disassembling the HT set up (Panasonic HD Plasma, Rotel RDV 1080 DVD, Rotel RSX 1055 HT receiver, Audio Concepts Sapphire/Emerald speakers) realized that this was a real messy set up….kids could not use the system, wife could not use the system and the cabling looked like the floor of the Medusa hair salon.

So…..here are my questions:

1: Am I correct in assuming that going with new HDMI set up will reduce the cable mess we currently have.

2: Thinking about a Marantz receiver (SR7001)…any thoughts on this?

3: Does it make sense to spend big bucks on the DVD player anymore?

4: Is there a market for the used Rotel equipment? The Rotel equipment is built like a ton of bricks…and works as well today as it did when I purchased it.

Thanks for whatever help you can offer.
