RE: What do you think of... a TV for Mom?

Posted by racerguy on April 8, 2008 at 21:04:21:

My mother is home-bound, recovering from recent surgery. I bought her a new TV last week. I bought a Toshiba LCD. Price was right, remote control is simple, picture is good, sound quality is good, and she really likes it. It's the second Toshiba LCD I've bought in the last year - they are good TVs.

I chose LCD for her because she watches a lot of 4:3 broadcast TV, and LCD has absolutely no issues with image burn. The picture is good when she has the lights on. It's also lighter than a plasma, so she can move it to dust. It came with a stand, and fit into the cabinet her previous ancient tube TV was in without any problems.
