RE: Cost of Blu Ray Player

Posted by GPBobby on September 16, 2008 at 05:40:45:

Walmart in Salt Lake City had the Sony under $300 a month ago. I follow W-M rather closely and have discovered that each store has pricing latitude. Not sure how this is determined but in the case of close-outs or specials, it can be decided by the electronics mgr.

If you can wait, the day after Thanksgiving or 2nd week of Dec should be ideal time to buy, at least this year. Just like computer hard drives, they will go down in price with increased production and recovery of r & d costs. But watch for reduction of useful features at the same time, some being replaced by on-line connectivity nonsence.
