Splittling a hd signal/other connection ?'s (complicated)
Posted by Chris C on September 18, 2008 at 03:41:47:
Hi. I want to split a satelitte receiver's hdmi signal to two tvs(my living room and my bedroom). I do have a hd tv in my Bedroom. The sat. receiver is in the living room with my big tv and i want to split the Sat. box to the Bedroom tv which also has an hdmi input. Thing is the bedroom has a 30 foot hdmi cable. Its that far from the box in the liv. room to the tv in the bedroom.
I have a Denon 3808 stereo receiver that has 4 HDMI inputs and a monitor HDMI output. What is the best/easiest way to do this? I know they sell HDMI splitters (such as those cheap 2 to 1 for about $20) I already tried this . It works but not correctly. Do i need to spend more on a powered splitter?
Also, and this is what complicates it (I think)....I don't want to have to turn the stereo receiver on to watch either tv unless there is something worth it(like a good concert or movie).
Thanks a million for any help! I will worship anyone who helps
