Since no one has answered, I'll take an uneducated stab. I'm thinking HDMI cables carry all of the signals ie video and audio. So, why wouldnt all of your signals pass through the reciever and have audio at the end of the cable where I assume you would just use the tv audio. then if something is good on, you could crank up the ole stereo.
