RE: rearprojection and blu ray !

Yes, similar results. Blu-ray is virtually flawless via component on my Sony RPTV. No issues whatsoever. I am going to miss that TV, as it was replaced with a 60" Pio plasma so that I could have more flexible space for my audio toys. The plasma's not really better, just different, and does a relatively decent job of emulating the good CRT attributes. I will experiment if component input is in fact better than HDMI with BD, many people think it is with some program material in some setups. For DVD I'll likely stick to HDMI so I can upscale if desired, but the component connection will be there JIC. That HDMI input was the other reason (besides space) I changed the display: after watching BD, a lot of DVDs look a bit lame and the upscaling usually does help narrow the gap.
