All I know is that they recently pulled the plug on Sony Trinitron CRT production. I have a 16:9 HD Sony XBR CRT set with a wonderful display but it's huge and weighs a ton for only 34-inches of screen real estate.

Don't even think about buying a CRT set today. Time to move on....

I don't hate LCDs but I'm still more of a plasma fan provided it's in a dimly lit room like our basement.
