Yamaha RX-V663 powers off randomly with remote

Posted by rslangfo on May 3, 2010 at 11:36:04:

I used to use my Yamaha RX-V663 with my CD player and Sony TV all controlled through my harmony remote. Recently I installed a blue ray player and switched the cabeling from bannana plugs to HDMI cables.
New config:
Cable --> HMDI --> Yamaha --> HDMI --> TV
Blue Ray --> HDMI --> Yamaha --> HDMI --> TV
Old Config
Cable --> HDMI --> TV --> Bannana plug --> Yamaha (audio only)
DVD --> Bannana plug --> Yamaha --> Bannana plug --> TV

The power off does not always happen, but it only happens when I use the remote. Any remote (original and harmony) plus it doesn't seem to be consistant. I can hit menu, volume, etc and randomly ~50% of the time the receiver will power off.

It happens when I am playing didgital cable only as well as when I play the blue ray source input.

I tried resetting lower impedance to 60ohm, but that didn't help so I set it back to 80ohm. Cables should be fine since I never touched them other than hooking up the HDMI insead of bannana for source imputs.

Ideas?
