Have you seen any other early Argento films besides Susperia? (i.e. before he went gore crazy). Profundo Rosso (Deep Red) is one of my all time favourite films. Most early Argento films have interesting plots and themes, tension and suspense, great soundtracks and great camera work. Try and find "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage", Cat'O'Nine Tails" and "Deep Red".
You are right on with Demons - it is crap, but Argento only produced it, Lamberto Bava (son of Mario) directed it - too much reliance on latex and tomato sauce :~)BTW Italian label Dagored are reissuing a few Goblin/Argento soundtracks. I just bought the LP of Profundo Rosso. It is excellent.
Cheers
