My nomination for most accomplished American director of the past ten years: John Sayles. Can anyone else think of a director (Ok, let's expand this world wide) who has two movies back to back that exceed the brilliance of "Lone Star" and "Men with Guns?" (And I hated "The Secaucus Seven", just to put this in perspective...).
