What are you viewing on DVD ?

65.145.21.7

In my pile are....

Already seen...

"Jason and the Argonauts"...classic sci-fi from Ray Harrihausen, great story excellent pre-computer generated efx!

"American Graffiti"...it was nice to see again, and even the featurette was good !

"Three Dog Night Live w/ Tenness Symphony Orchestra"...tight, straightforward, great sound, nice to hear again

To be viewed...

"Rudy Ray Moore Live at the Wetlands"...lowdown dirty blues, as real as it gets...X rated and loads of fun from Dolemite, himself !

"Born on the Fourth of July"...a taut biography, cant wait to hear Stone's commentary

The Cliff Richard Collection Box Set.."Summer Holiday", "The Young Ones", "Wonderful Life"....good times music, light and fluffy script, lighter than Elvis films. The standout is "The Young Ones" w/ Robert Morely

"The Bridges of Toko-Ri"...now it's viewed as a classic military yarn about disallusionment of purpose of War, but when it first came out, it was ahead of it's time, for any major film to question US involvement in winless overseas wars. The special effects won an Academy Award.

"Behind the Planet of the Apes" 2DVD set...lots of extras from the Tv and box set DVD presentation, including over 20min. of outtakes and dailies w/ music over, makeup test of Heston with Edward G. Robinson, and a over 100minute, unedited interview with Roddy McDowell...loads of stories about this film and his whole Hollywood career
