Opie & Meathead are probably a couple of the better directors in the newer batch, IMHO. It seems like we have a ton of Tim Burtons & Quentin Tarantinos. Neither one can tell a story to save their lives. They studied in the Stephen Spielberg philosophy. They assume if it's gratuitous enough, it’s entertaining. So, that makes up for a lack of plot.
