Not a brilliant idea; but try advertising in your local community newspaper; it's likely free to do so and some local video buff may have this taped. I had the same experience trying to get a copy of the brilliant UK series "Pennies from Heaven", (not the wretched Steve Martin film of the same name), the later "Singing Detective" series I could source anywhere; still have yet to source this more's the pity. I think it was underwritten by the Beeb, not the least interested in playing ball with offering a source or releasing a copy, but at least they did communicate.
I think you'll find that studios seem almost universally in contempt of fans of obsure releases; it's not just a UK phenomenon.
