that happened in a short time. Briefly:After several thousand years the vehicle is discovered by robots. There are no humans left alive. The robokid reactivates. The robots retrieve the kid's memories and recreate his "parent's" house for him to live in. The robots can also recreate humans from DNA, but the catch is they can only do it once for a person and they only live for one day, when they go to sleep they never wake up. The supertoy bear kept that lock of the kid's mother's hair (remember that?). The robots bring the kid's mother to life for one day. When she lies down to go to sleep (and permanently die) the kid lies down with her, and apparently permanently deactivates himself (the impression I got).
Not well told, but the rough idea...
