i heard the term 'blackexploitation' films, and i never knew the meaning why, but i assumed incorrectly perhaps, that it intended to manipulate feelings, to give a sense of empowerment, or whatever.

so that's the only reason i picked that term.

but then you are perfectly right that so many of these hollywood films are really all about that. in these films we win over bad guys, we win over the corrupot gov't, we win over everybody through the hero. i remember it said that the sylvestor stallone movie where he wins in vietnam was purposely done to exploit that situation.

so i guess the whole society, both male and females are impotent, and feel powerless, and these movies provide us with a fix. and i appreciate you mentioning it.

and i sure did enjoy that woman giving it to her husband, so that kind of anger when someone transgresses all boundaries of fairness, is not sex specific to the sex of the victim.

it is a little ridiculous though that all these types of situations have to end in violence and revenge. 'enough' was a hollywood ending, but also a forgone plot and conclusion. imagine a real story line. imagine after she told her mother-in-law how she got the bruise on her face, and the mother-in-law stating that 'what did you do to deserve that!', that that is where a real life drama began.
