StarmanYou will observe Mr. Spielberg's efforts are noticably absent from the above list. I enjoy approximately 7/8 of Close Encounters, and bits of A.I, bits and pieces of Minority Report. I find the endings of all the above curiously unsatisfying...cloying even. (Moreover, I must be the only person in America who doesn't thrill to ET. While Spielberg is undeniably talented, I just cannot find it in me to love much of his oevre.
Call me strange, but I'd rather watch The Hidden, or It Came From Outer Space, than ET. I'd rather watch Dune than Minority Report.
