I think what ultimately made a failed movie to me was the predictable villian and ending. I thought the Cruise character was interesting and yes, a maturity lacking in many Spielburg films, but if I can figure it all out so quickly it ruins it for me. I am sure many people would enjoy it , however. Brings to mind "the usual suspects" nice film but it falls flat when you figure it out.
