Legend has it Pola Negri and Valentino were romantically involved; she made an emotional scene at his funeral and had to be physically restrained from leaping into his grave, making for very bankable Press!
A fascinating era, I find it intriguing that 70 years after he made his last film Valentino's name is still readilly recognised and associated with screen romance
