had historically been very much a part of the European landscape centuries before the appearance of Herr Hitler; he used the myth of "the International Jewish Conspiracy" as well as Anti-Communist sentiment as the backbone of Mein Kampf (My Struggle), a book that went into many translations and printings, and established AH as both a respected international writer and made him a small fortune at the same time. This "struggle" was exactly what a Depression-weary Public wanted to hear; it also provided exactly the springboard of finance and popular support AH needed at exactly the right time
Having established himself as both the focus and standard bearer of the Brave New Reich, AH was simply scapegoating Jews, Communists Gypsies Slavs, and other "undesirables" to suit his own political ends
I doubt there was ever anything personal in it, he was just milking European xenophobia for all it was worth
Eric
