Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Yes. But isn't every summer? Seems like this complaint is offered every year as if...

... it were fresh insight. It isn't. This particular complaint returns every summer, as predictably as the sequels to the big-budget special effects spectaculars of two to four years prior. Here are a few other "fresh insights" to expect:

- Later in the summer we'll hear how "every" summer movie so far is geared toward adolescent boys.

- Hey, no one has pointed out lately that romances featuring older men with younger women are the norm in Hollywood movies. Any minute now...

- There are no good roles for women. Absolutely none!

- Finally, near the end of the year, some critics will claim, "This was an unusually weak year for movies". They've been telling us that one every year since about 1920.
