it brought to mind Whit Stillman's Barcelona, another group of young people abroad in this same colorful town. In Barcelona, the characters are much more important and the dialogue is sparkling. By comparison, one does not get to know much about the characters in L'Auberge Espagnole, except the main guy. But it is a nice breezy, warm-hearted entertainment, in which this diverse group come together to divert a minor crisis...and I really enjoyed it far more than the Matrix Reloaded. It was a relief in comparison.
