Hume Cronyn, longtime stage, screen, and television actor, is dead at 91 of cancer. Most famous for his long pairing with his wife of 54 years, the late Jessica Tandy, Cronyn was also a popular actor on his own.Notable films include Hitchcock's "Lifeboat" and the fantasy/sci-fi film "Cocoon." He made numerous television appearances and was one of the most popular actors to appear in the famed "Hallmark Hall of Fame" series.
Cronyn won numerous awards over his long career, including an Emmy and two Tony awards. In 1991 he won, along with his wife and acting partner Jessica Tandy, a lifetime achievement award from the Theater Guild.
Truly a great actor. He will be missed.
