Best rape film? I don't get it. Surely you do accept the premise--not my own, I don't think--that identifiable genres have their exemplary moments, films or books or albums that fit firmly within the established conventions, but arrive at those conventions 'from the inside,' rather than merely filling in the blanks of a formula. Or maybe you're equating drug use with rape? You might have a point, in a way, but still, not sure what the gibe here is supposed to be.Then again, I guess I could pretend to take you seriously. I'd say The Accused was one of the most upsetting films I've ever seen, and one of the few that really explores the consequences of rape. Whether or not it's "the best," I dunno, because whereas 'drug cinema' is a recognized genre that people talk about, I'm not aware of 'rape cinema' being so. That's a rather distasteful way of making a point, if that's what you were doing. But I'm not sure what you're really after, so I'll reserve judgment.
