Kill Bill I

[This, from a buddy.]

Wonderful job of film making fashioning a cinematic work with the stylistic elements of lots of great makers new and old. Music was great, very 6o's French. Animation sequence was effective, a homage to Run Lola Run and others of its type. Orson Welles camera angles abounded.Narration was used. Hell, it had everything including the blood stained kitchen sink (yes , the violence). I don't know what the fascination is with the samurai sword fighting but it sure was indulged in this flick and a Tom Cruise effort soon to follow. Lots of post limb loss arterial blood flow was on display. The surfeit of it had me bored and not watching during the Matrix parody. More than anything else that I've seen this picture clearly shows the influence of porn, sadism, video games and big screen animation on the traditional medium. I think less about this movie than I do about where it will lead. It's revolutionary in its own imitative way.I'm reallly curious to see how it does. If it's a hit, blood could be the next big thing.
