Whew, two hours of a nearly low-budget epic illustrating the birth and complexity of the Protestant movement. Fiennes, looking more Italian than German, low-keyed the problematic Luther to the point of narcolepsy. Though tedious, it was educational--not at all like a film stamped: Made In USA. And, it was a treat to see Sir Pete Ustinov back in action (I thought he was dead).If you want your historical entertainment, turn the TV to the History Channel and save your ticket for this one towards next month's cable bill.
