I thought the actor who played the doctor overplayed the role more than anything.

I try to imagine the movie without mano-a-mano captain-doctor scenes, cello-fiddle duets including.

A musket shot from 10 yards would've ripped through him like he was a sack of tomatos.

Even if he survived...noone removes lead slugs that shatter their ribs.

Even if he did, he would've died from sepsis in 48 hrs tops.

I guess I really hated that character and actor.

The portrayal of the ship life was a killer though.

I'd give M&C 5 huge stars when I was 13.
