Methinks Mr. Reviewer believes history to have stalled at some fanciful 1954 or so.If it was a joke, though, then the stuff about setting boys' hearts alight and Christian gentlemen was expertly ironic. But I doubt a conservative writer whose pet issue is white slavery would be that able a humorist.
