American leading actors?
I'd have included Sean Penn in the category, but he seems to have gone the way of the former big three in playing to his persona----angry and over the top ("Mystic River").
Robbins, Depp, Cruise...none of them have the "weight" to portray complex, powerful characters.
Did I leave anyone out (I thought Brad Pitt had a chance after "Se7en" and "Snatch," but he's done less-than-nothing since).
