There were other notable performances in the film. Ktorov was superb as Andrei's father. Shuranova as his sister. Yefremov as Dolokhov. Zakhava as Kutuzov was incredible, I thought. Vertinskaya made too many young Russian men sleepless - she is one of the most bueautiful women of the last century. Trofimov in his small role of Tushin - he is an incredibly good actor, quiet, unimposing, but talented and versatile. Rybnikov was interesting as Denisov, he used to do to the Russian women what Vertinskaya did to men. Russian James Dean? Lanovoy did all that later, he is not the greatest actor, but got the looks - he is great in uniforms.I think by now I have softened Anya enough - getting her heady for the double-marathon.
