Yes, I know some don't like it and it's not perfect. Politically correct? No way! Still, amazingly hilarious and gripping after not having seen it for many years.
Those scenes with the dying gunner are still as shocking. Yossarian's spirit, still as unconquerable. Did anyone else cheer when he found out that guy made it to Sweden?
And I can't imagine better casting. Arkin was superb.
I should read the book some day.
