I would not know either, but as I was scanning the rental place shelves I saw this written on the box: "From the director of Piano Teacher".Turned out, the only other work of this director I have seen was the small 50 second bit in the Lumière and Company.
The Lumiere is actually a fun piece to have. From time to time I feel the urge to see just what this or that director did there. I have seen much more since I watched it some time ago, so I would like to see those little pieces again. I remember that some of them were extremely well made, tiny masterpieces or just plain fun sketches.
Another piece of fine French merde, as you (I believe) are fond of saying, this weekend, was After Sex. What is that with French obsession with older women having affairs with young studs? The only good part there was the old wife sticking the carving fork into her long-time cheating husband's neck.
Many stupid stories have been saved by throwing in enough style. This one has just enough style to make you finish it, not love it.
