Set in the 1960's, this Australian produced series his a tip-of-the-hat to the Avengers of old, including a police detective with the last name Steed (Joel Jackson) who Peregrine Fisher works with behind the official scenes to solve cases. Geraldine Hakewill, who portrays Ms Fisher, bears an uncanny resemblance to Diana Rigg and sells the role quite well.

The first episode introducing Peregrine Fisher is weakest because it takes awhile to establish her character's strengths, but each film gets better as does her character's confidence. While not comparable to the original Avengers in respect to cheeky asides, Ms Hakewill's character is totally charming and the series is quite fun to watch.
