I'm also flummoxed at all the high ratings. Possible explanations: plays to the #metoo ethos--- and it stars Elizabeth Moss, perhaps the hottest actress of-the-moment.

Typical of Hollywood films, there were WAY too many killings beyond what was necessary.

The husband was forgettable and hardly any sort of foil for her.
