Guy Ritchie moves a "revenge and caper" film from the comfort of Britain to the wilds of LA. Does it work? Pretty much. Statham plays a walking log with a bad disposition seeking vengeance for a loved one. Not one smile or grin from start to finish. He begins his quest for the guilty party by working for an armored truck company that is filled mostly with two-legged reptiles.
This film makes 'Nobody' play like a musical comedy. Gunplay, torture, splatters, and not one "have a nice day". This is the grittiest film I've seen in a good while.
Well, Ritchie's love of rolling off Brittanic slang and prose transalated into mostly wiseacre comments. No subtitles necessary yet it needed something.
This one is for fans of Statham and Ritchie not just a casual perp walking in with a date.
PS. Andy Garcia shines with his brief appearances.
