Probably along with Funeral in Berlin and Torn Curtain the only English language films I can think of involving East Germany in those days. Violent force and almost inhumanly strict discipline with no redeeming purpose is what I am left with from any information I've ever encountered about the GDR. Lighten up guys! Live a little ...
