You got me to check...yes there will be a 2nd season, supposed to be in 2022.

This is executive produced by the guy who made Line of Duty (6 seasons I think) and Bodyguard. Like Bloodlands, those have lots of unexpected plot twists that either keep things interesting or verge on self parody, I guess depending on the viewer's tolerance.
